Mashie
Of all the classic golf clubs, the mashie is perhaps the best recognized, at least by name. It is most equivalent to today’s seven iron and was used most predominately as an approach club. The hickory shafted mashie, first introduced in the 1880’s, is no longer is use.
Hickory Golf Classics’ Mashie Golf Club features a hickory shaft, hand-wrapped leather grip, carbon steel head and a loft of 35 degrees. 37.5 inches long.
Niblick
Equivalent to today’s modern pitch wedge, the Niblick was used during the mid nineteenth century to play high lofted shots and to extricate the ball from sand traps, ruts and other undesirable lies. The Niblick may have been golf’s first “utility” club.
Hickory Golf Classics’ Niblick Golf Club features a genuine hickory shaft, hand wrapped leather grip, carbon steel head, and a loft of 49 degrees. 36” long.
Blade Putter
The blade putter was the design of choice for most players in the early 19th century. Due to its light weight, players were able to better employ the “wristy” stroke technique that was common in the day.
Hickory Golf Classics’ blade putter features the traditional “long-nose” design of the period, complete with authentic grooved hitting area, genuine hickory shaft, hand-wrapped leather grip, and a carbon steel head. 35.5” long.

Mallet Putter
The mallet putter was introduced in the early 1900’s and featured a larger, rounded head design that was heavier than the blade putter. Some players felt that the added weight would allow them to roll ball better with less effort. The mallet head design is still in use today.
